Who We Are and How We Cover Mahjong Ways in the Philippines

Mahjong Ways is the subject of this independent information guide for readers in the Philippines. mahjongwaysindo.com explains the PG Soft games Mahjong Ways and Mahjong Ways 2, checks its published facts against official material, and sets out the limits of what this guide can confirm about access, platforms and play.

Who we are

mahjongwaysindo.com is an independent information guide about the PG Soft slot series Mahjong Ways and Mahjong Ways 2. This page and the related guides are written for readers in the Philippines. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or an official representative of Pocket Games Soft (PG Soft). The site provides information; it does not operate either game or provide a player account.

Games that offer real-money play are made available through third-party gaming platforms. This guide does not take registrations, handle play or confirm that a particular platform is authorised to offer a game in the Philippines. Our Philippines legal status page explains what readers should check before using a platform.

How we check Mahjong Ways information

We compare game details with official PG Soft information documents, PG Soft news pages and the public PG Soft demo. The information on this page was last checked on 26 October 2026. The documents used for the two games identify Mahjong Ways as version 1.0.r719, last updated on 10 December 2019, and Mahjong Ways 2 as version 1.0r792, last updated on 2 August 2022. PG Soft announced Mahjong Ways in December 2019 as its first mahjong-themed slot, then announced Mahjong Ways 2 as its sequel in April 2020.

The public demo is available in several interface languages. This Philippines section uses its English interface; the Indonesian name shown for the game is “Cara Mahyong”. In the demo, the number of ways appears above the reels. The splash screen displays “Dilisensi di Malta” with an MGA logo, and “Disertifikasi oleh GA / BMM”. These are observations about the demo screen, not confirmation that a platform or game is approved for use in the Philippines.

We use the official PG Soft game information as a source, but readers should distinguish a game’s published information from the status of the platform offering it. We do not infer a local approval, guarantee a particular version is available, or treat a logo shown on a platform page as proof of its status.

What the two Mahjong Ways games include

The official documents describe both games as classic / Chinese slots themed around mahjong tiles. They list support for iOS, Android, HTML5, MacOS and Windows, and an optimal portrait display of 1080x2340 at 19.5:9. The games run as HTML5 titles in a browser or within a gaming platform. PG Soft does not list an official standalone Mahjong Ways APK, and the games do not have their own account system; login and registration take place on the platform.

Published detail Mahjong Ways Mahjong Ways 2
Reels and rows 5 reels, 4 rows 5 reels; row layout 4-5-5-5-4
Ways 1,024 2,000
Theoretical RTP 96.92% 96.95%
Session volatility Medium Medium
Advertised maximum win 25,000x the bet 100,000x the bet
Maximum exposure in one billion simulated spins 2,893x 1,708x

The maximum-win figures are advertised values, not typical outcomes or promises. The simulated maximum exposure figures are from one billion simulated spins and are not a prediction of what a player will receive. RTP is a long-term theoretical figure for the game version, not a return expected in an individual session. It is not an hourly “live RTP” reading. For further explanation, see RTP and maximum win and the Mahjong Ways 2 guide.

Both games use cascading wins: winning symbols are removed and new symbols fall into place, after which another win may be checked in the same spin. The multiplier starts at x1 and rises to x2, x3 and then x5 when successive rounds produce wins; it resets on a new spin. In free spins, the multiplier steps are x2, x4, x6 and x10. Mahjong Ways awards 12 free spins when three Scatter symbols appear, while Mahjong Ways 2 awards 10; further Scatters add spins in both games. Mahjong Ways 2 also has a gold-symbol feature on reel 3 during free spins. The official documents describe these mechanics in more detail in our free spins and Scatter guide.

Editorial rules and limits

We aim to separate source-backed details from claims made elsewhere online. We check names, game rules, controls and published figures against the sources described above, and we update pages when those sources change. If a fact is uncertain or not confirmed, we say so rather than filling gaps with assumptions. Our how to play guide explains the controls, including Spin, bet controls, game history, Auto Spin stop conditions, Turbo Spin, sound, paytable and rules.

The official PDFs do not describe a Feature Buy or bonus-buy option for either game. They also do not identify a “black Scatter” as part of Mahjong Ways or Mahjong Ways 2. We found no Mahjong Ways 3 in PG Soft’s official catalogue; titles using that name on gaming platforms are not thereby confirmed as PG Soft releases. “Mahjong ways 2 tricks”, predictors, patterns and hacks are not reliable ways to determine results. Spins are independent and outcomes are determined by a random number generator. Our Mahjong Ways 3, Super Scatter and myths page covers the boundaries of what we can verify without presenting unconfirmed titles as part of this series.

We do not describe the demo as evidence that real-money play is available, lawful on a particular platform or suitable for any reader. We do not promise wins, favourable outcomes or platform safety. Readers can try the public demo guide to understand the demo experience; demo play does not establish what a third-party platform offers.

Philippines context and reader protection

Gambling in the Philippines is regulated by PAGCOR. Only PAGCOR-licensed or registered platforms may legally offer online games to players in the country. This guide does not confirm that Mahjong Ways or Mahjong Ways 2 is approved on any specific platform. Check the exact platform domain against PAGCOR’s lists. A PAGCOR logo displayed on a page is not, by itself, proof of authorisation.

PAGCOR rules prohibit gambling by anyone under 21, government officials and employees, AFP and PNP members, and people on the National Database of Restricted Persons. This site is for readers aged 21 and over. The payment environment can also change: GCash Help Center states that licensed gaming top-up and withdrawal services were removed effective 16 August 2025, following BSP memorandum M-2025-029 dated 14 August 2025, which told BSP-supervised e-wallets to remove in-app links to gambling sites. Payment options depend on the individual platform; do not assume a method is available based on an old page or another service.

For support, readers may visit the National Problem Gambling Helpline, PAGCOR’s self-exclusion portal or its responsible gaming information. Our responsible gaming page also gathers practical information. Choosing not to gamble is a valid option.
